Prayer During Labor: A Child Entrusted Through Baptism
Ask Jesus to preserve the child and entrust the child to him through baptism.
Historical edition. Historical claims and instructions are preserved as historical context.
O yes, my Shepherd will not forsake His sheep, nor my Father His child. Since Thou hast distressed me, do Thou also make me rejoice again. Since Thou hast bestowed a blessing upon me, let me also behold it. O Jesus, lay my child alive in my arms. I will lay it again in Thy loving arms through Holy Baptism, and thus give back to Thee what Thou hast given to me. If it is mine according to nature and earthly birth, it shall become Thine by the new birth.
