Recall God’s help and ask for trust in future trouble.
Historical edition. Historical claims and instructions are preserved as historical context.
How faithful is Thy Word, O God! I have fared exactly as it is written there. Thou didst make me sore, and bind me up; Thou didst wound me, and make me whole. Thou hast delivered me out of many and various troubles. Blessed be Thy holy name! Perhaps some new trouble awaits me; Thou alone knowest. But if it should come, grant that I may be ready and prepared for it, and may trust in Thy Word. Let me remember then how often Thou hast gloriously helped me; and let me, in childlike trust and hope, look upward to Thee, and wait for Thy help. Let me then also, even while Thou chastenest, taste and see that Thou, Lord, art good, and that all things shall work together for good to them that love Thee.
