A brief prayer for relief from pain, strength to endure it, and reassurance of God’s presence.
Historical edition. Historical claims and instructions are preserved as historical context.
O LORD, my God, I am in Thy hands, I resign myself unreservedly to Thee. Relieve my pain, or strengthen me to bear it. O be not silent unto me, lest, if Thou be silent, my faith should die and my hope perish. Speak to me and I ask no more. For I know if Thou hearest me, then I have the petitions I desire of Thee, through Jesus Christ my Saviour. Amen.
