O LORD, my refreshment and my strength, throughout the night Thou hast spread Thy hand upon me for a covering, and while this little earth has swept on its way through boundless space, I have rested in perfect safety under the shadow of the Almighty. Thy faithfulness rebukes my want of faith; Thy love, my selfishness; Thy unresting work, my sinful sloth. Lift up my soul into communion with Thy life and then I will go forth to serve Thee and in Thee my fellow-men, in newness of spirit; unto Thee be all the glory now and evermore. Amen.
