In the Morning: Life in the Spirit
A morning prayer for the Holy Spirit’s power, wisdom, restraint in speech, and a day of faithful service.
Historical edition. Historical claims and instructions are preserved as historical context.
IN the morning, O Lord, would I direct my prayer unto Thee and would look up. Vouchsafe unto me the fellowship of the Holy Spirit as a Spirit of power, of freedom, of purity, and of wisdom. Let Thy Spirit bear witness with my spirit that in spite of weakness and shortcoming I am Thy child and heir to all the riches of Thy grace in Christ Jesus. O let me walk this day and every day worthy of my high vocation! Set a seal upon my lips that in no word I may offend Thee. Keep my heart in Thy love and knowledge and grant that this day I may do something solely for Thy sake, in the strength of Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
