O BLESSED God, into Thine all-protecting hands I commend my soul and my body that no sin may stain the one, nor disease injure the other. Open my heart now and enter in and fill it with Thy love. With the fire of Thy love burn away the stains of sin and make me pure and true. As I sink into unconsciousness, let it be with thoughts of Thee, of Thy tender mercy, of Thine infinite goodness. Let me feel myself at rest in Thine everlasting arms, and when I awake, let it be with bright and joyous thoughts, with the glad assurance that neither height nor depths, nor any other creature, can separate me from Thy love which is in Christ Jesus, my Lord. Amen.
