Thanksgiving for “the liberty that is in Christ Jesus.”
LET us this day, O Lord, learn somewhat concerning Thee, and concerning Thy Law which is unchangeable. Make us truly wise to salvation. Guide us to seek for that which alone is true salvation, deliverance from the dominion of sin. We thank Thee for the freedom of worship, of thought, and of speech here enjoyed. Let our religion not divide us from our fellow-men, but knit us together as children of one God, in earnest and universal kindness, even to those who disown Thee, or scorn reverence. Thus shall our hearts sincerely echo the heavenly song, “Glory be to Thee, O God, on high, on earth peace, goodwill to men.” For the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
