Praise and Intercession for the Coming Day
HEAVENLY Father, Who watchest over Thy faithful people and mightily defendest them, we thank Thee that it has pleased Thee to take care of us Thy servants during the night past, and to give us needful sleep to refresh our bodies. We beseech Thee to show the same goodness to us this day, so preserving and ruling over us that we may neither think, nor speak, nor do anything displeasing to Thee, or hurtful to our neighbour, but that all our doings may be agreeable to Thy most holy will, and may advance Thy glory, so that, when Thou shalt call us hence, we may be found the children, not of darkness, but of light; for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
