For the Burdened and the Disappointed
ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father, Who hast taught us not to think of ourselves only, but also for the wants of others, we remember before Thee all who are burdened and oppressed, those whose hopes have been crushed and whose purposes are overthrown. We remember all who are afflicted by poverty, or worn down by disease and illness, the weary and the heavy-laden, those also who are in darkness or despair, or who are suffering for righteousness' sake. Help them all to rest in Thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
