For Rest and Confidence in God

For Rest and Confidence in God

COMPOSE, O God, our faculties and thoughts that we may be enabled worthily to thank Thee through Jesus Christ Thy Son for all the good with which Thou hast blessed us graciously to-day. This evening we commend our whole welfare and life and all other things to Thy guidance and keeping. Yea, we take refuge from all our enemies in the kindness of Thy Fatherly love, and in Thee only do we seek our rest, inasmuch as without Thee is no peace or calm in heaven or earth. Let us be Thine whether we wake or sleep, and work Thou Thyself in us whatever is well pleasing in Thy sight; through Jesus Christ and in the power of His Spirit. Amen.
