For Protection and Peace
WATCH over us, we pray Thee, O Lord, this night, and keep our souls and bodies pure and holy. We pray Thee, if it be Thy will, to lighten our trials, and to prosper our endeavours; but we especially beseech Thee to give us that peace which the world can neither give nor take away, that our hearts may be established in Thy love. May we live calmly and contentedly here, striving to keep our conscience void of offence towards all men, and looking continually to Thee for grace to help us in every time of need. Bless all who are dear to us, and may they be partakers with us of eternal life; for the sake of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
