For Blessing on the Opening Day
ALMIGHTY God, we kneel before Thee to ask Thy blessing upon us this morning. We thank Thee for the care which has watched over us in the hours of darkness, and we now beseech Thee to go forth with us to our daily work. Keep us pure and holy by the indwelling of Thy Holy Spirit. Make us strong and of good courage; let us remember that Thou wilt never fail nor forsake us. Let neither the cares nor the business of the day disturb our trust in Thee. May we never murmur under any trial, nor be discontented with our lot, but raise our affections to things above, that we may even now behold Thy presence in righteousness. We ask every blessing in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
