Confession of Sin and Shortcomings
FATHER, we Thy erring children humbly entreat Thy gracious pardon for all that is displeasing in us, for our many failings and failures, for our wilful sins and our sins of ignorance. We have no right to Thy forgiveness, but, taught by Thy Son, our Saviour, we ask for it as a gracious favour in His Name. Father, forgive us. Blot out the stains of past sin; cleanse us from it; impart to us Thy purity and righteousness. Look not, O Lord, upon our unworthiness, but upon the Face of Thine Anointed. Give us Thy Holy Spirit to inspire us to greater holiness and more worthy service; for the sake of Jesus Christ Thy Son. Amen.
