A Morning Prayer and Thanksgiving
LORD, our God, heavenly Father, we give Thee heartfelt praise and thanks for all Thy grace, and love, and goodness which Thou hast bestowed upon us for body and soul unto this present hour. Furthermore, we thank Thee that Thou hast graciously sheltered us during the past night from all evil and danger, and hast in Thy Fatherly love preserved to us our life and all Thy daily blessing. O Lord our God, how great is Thy goodness, that the children of men can trust themselves under the shadow of Thy wings. In childlike trust, we beseech Thee, our heavenly Father, that Thou wouldst this day gladden us with Thy goodness and safeguard us and all Thy people with Thy defence. Lead us by Thy Holy Spirit in all goodness, and teach us to do the things well-pleasing in Thy sight. Protect us, O God, that we sin not against Thee, and keep our conscience free from stain. Strengthen us in all our doings and undertakings. Give us strength and comfort in all unexpected troubles, and be Thou with us in all our ways. Be gracious, Lord, to us Thy children. Fill us with Thy grace, so will we be glad and rejoice all the days of our life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
