Ask God for help with confidence drawn from past deliverance.
Historical edition. Historical claims and instructions are preserved as historical context.
O God! The knowledge that in days gone by Thou hast so frequently helped me, gives me courage to hope that this time Thou wilt also be my God, my Deliverer, and my Saviour. Thou art still as mighty as Thou wast before. Since Thou hast helped so many others, reveal Thy goodness in me also. Then when Thy help has come, my mouth shall be filled with Thy praise, and I will say: “This God has done. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
