Ask God to preserve mother and child and deepen trust.
Historical edition. Historical claims and instructions are preserved as historical context.
O Lord, preserve me and my child from harm. Hide us both under the shadow of Thy wings. Hear my supplications, and help me. If the pains become more severe, let me experience Thy help more strongly. I trust in Thee still, even though it seems as if Thou wouldest slay me. O, Thy hand is not shortened. I look not upon my own impotence, but upon Thee, Thou gracious, strong, and merciful God.
